· a novel

Gaurav Srivastav

Everyone at the Rajbari is lying.

Comic fiction from Kolkata by Gaurav Srivastav: a crumbling haveli, a hunted will, and a lot of fish fry.

About the author

Reading P.G. Wodehouse since he was old enough to enjoy a good simile.

Gaurav Srivastav has worked in media and entertainment his entire career, and leads ASGV, a growth strategy consultancy.

He has been reading P.G. Wodehouse since he was old enough to understand the joy of expressing in similes. It is to his mother’s side of the family, rooted in the Bengali culture, that he owes both the setting in his stories and most of their gossip.

Rajbari Haveli is his first novel. The Gaba-da Chronicles are short stories full of Kolkata para life.

Rajbari Haveli

A comedy of mishti, maach, monsoons, and monumentally bad decisions.

The restoration consultant isn’t restoring anything. The two men from Bentinck Street aren’t generator men. The would-be son-in-law’s brother doesn’t exist. And the old servant who has watched all of it for forty years isn’t nearly as deaf as he has let everyone believe.

There’s a will being hunted, and a locked almirah nobody will admit to wanting. Then, halfway through the Heritage Evening gala, with a hundred and thirty guests eating fish fry in the courtyard, the lights go out.

Gaba-Da Chronicles

Gaba-Da has a scheme. He always has a scheme.

The Exotic Beverage

Gaba-da has discovered the future of Bengali beverages. It is called Aam Papad Kombucha.

Visa Vision

Chatterjee’s Visa-Ready English Academy.

Pandal Takeover

The most magnificent pandal Kolkata has ever seen.
